As you all know Ganesh Chaturthi 2022 is coming on 31st August 2022.  We all are very excited to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi 2021.  Here is some basic information about Ganesh Chaturthi why do we celebrate so high level?

Ganesh Chaturthi is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi. It’s a ten-day festival starting from the fourth day of the Hindu lunisolar calendar month Bhadrapada.

, which typically falls in the months of August or September of the Gregorian calendar. We install Shree Ganesh Clay Idols in the home and elaborate Pandals in public. On the tenth day, we carry the lord Ganesh Idol with music and immersed the idol in a river and ocean. In Mumbai alone, 1,50,000 idols are immersed.

Belief in Ganesh Chaturthi

Lord Ganesha is the God of the New beginning and the remover of obstacles and also the God of wisdom and intelligence. So nearly pan India we celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi so that Lord Ganesh removes our obstacles in life and family and brings joy and happiness to our family, life, and country.

We hope this year Lord Ganesha will end our most painful pandemic Corona Virus.

Maharastra, Karnataka, Goa, Telangana, Gujrat, Chhatisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, are also celebrated in foreign countries like Nepal, Trinidad, Suriname, Fiji, Mauritius, United States, and Europe. These are the top cities where people celebrate in Large otherwise Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in Pan India.

When Ganesh Chaturthi was First Celebrated

Ganesh Chaturthi was first observed publicly in the era of Shivaji.  According to others such as Kaur, the festival became a public event later, in 1892 when Bhausaheb Laxman Javale ( also known as Bhau Rangari), installed the first sarvajanik(public) Ganesha idol in Pune

How do we Celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi 2018 at Home?

At home, families install small clay statues for worship during the festival. The Murti is worshiped in the morning and evening with offerings of Flowers, DurvaKaranji, and Modaks.  The worship ends with the singing of an aarti in honor of Ganesha, other Gods, and Saints. In Maharashtra the Marathi aarti “Sukhakarta Dukhaharta“, composed by the 17th-century saint, Samarth Ramdas is sung.

  • For the Year 2021, Ganesh Chaturthi will be on the 10th of September.
  • For the Year 2022, Ganesh Chaturthi will be on 31st August.
